For us, it鈥檚 鈥淭he American Dream.鈥 For the Russians, the quality that they think best defines them is Russkaia Dusha, 鈥淭he Russian Soul.鈥 But today, with a Big Mac on the tray and rap music in the earphones, what is happening to the 鈥淩ussian Soul?鈥 This seminar will examine current efforts to reassert 鈥淩ussianness鈥 in Russia. Topics include the Eurasian, Nationalist, and Cosmist movements, and the nostalgia for Stalinism.
