In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Japan, the detection of nuclear radiation worldwide has come in to focus with the aid of a network of sensors around the globe operated by the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization.  This network designed to detect nuclear tests has proven to be helpful in assessing the risks of radiation.  The importance of the CTBTO and other nuclear security issues will be part of Col. Klass' and Dr. Helfand's presentation.  This event is free and open to the public.
