IPEC Event: Health Care Litigation - An Interprofessional Approach to Reducing Medical Error

12:00 pm - 12:00 pm
Ludcke Auditorium (PC), Decary 1 (BC)
Portland Campus for the Health Sciences, Biddeford Campus
Curt Cyr, Ph.D., R.Ph.

Free and open to the public

Since 2008, Dr. Cyr has been called upon to provide expert opinions and testify at trial in the areas of pharmacology and the practice of pharmacy in medical malpractice, murder, and manslaughter cases. During this event, students will use de-identified scenarios from actual legal cases to identify challenges found in transition of care and medication management. Using a team approach, they will explore potential solutions such as decreasing medical errors through interprofessional communication, better medication management and shared electronic medical records.

Attendance at this event qualifies for the IP Honors Distinction application.

This event can be viewed from any computer via LIVESTREAM . Students on the Portland campus can gather in the WCHP Lecture Hall. If you need to establish your attendance at the event for the Honors Distinction, or CUP, (or to ask questions), please join the conversation on Twitter by identifying yourself to @UNEIPE and including the hashtag #IPEUNE in any tweets.
