Bruce Bates recognized for 35 years of dedicated service as an Osteopathic Physician in Maine

Bruce P. Bates, D.O. Chair Department of Geriatric Medicine and Associate Dean for Health Services was recognized by the Maine Osteopathic Association for completing 35 years of dedicated service as an Osteopathic Physician for the people in the State of Maine. Dr Bates was awarded a plaque at the 2010 Annual Oceanside Convention Presidential Reception and Awards Ceremony at the Samoset Resort on Saturday, June 12, 2010.

Dr. Bates  was also the introductory speaker in a series of geriatrics lectures on establishing goals of care for successful aging at the 99th Annual Maine Osteopathic Association Convention.  His presentation was entitled "Considerations: Patient Centered Goals for Successful Aging" that emphasized the role of prevention, screening and intervention in various stages of life.
