Marilyn Gugliucci is keynote speaker for the Fifth Annual University of Maine Center on Aging Geriatrics Colloquium

Marilyn R. Gugliucci, Ph.D., director, Geriatrics Education and Research, was the keynote speaker for the Fifth Annual University of Maine Center on Aging Geriatrics Colloquium that was held on Tuesday April 6, 2010.

The Focus of the Colloquium was "Sexuality and Aging: Dispelling the Myth."  Dr. Gugliucci's keynote was entitled: "Granny's Got her Groove On: Society, Aging, Sex, and the Individual"  The conference was held at Point Lookout Resort, Northport, ME where 140 attendees from elder related care services around the state engaged in addressing the aging and sexuality issues and needs of heterosexual as well as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered older adults living independently and in long term care environments. This was an incredibly bold topic.  Karen Taylor, Director of Advocacy and Training at SAGE (Services & Advocacy for LGBT Elders) New York was also a speaker.
