Mark Roberge's scrap metal sculptures on display at UNE in Biddeford
The 糖心传媒 hosts an exhibit of scrap metal sculptures by Mark Roberge at its Campus Center on the Biddeford Campus.
Roberge owns an automotive repair business in Biddeford, and in his spare time, turns old car parts, junk metal and found objects into sculptures. He recycles mufflers, gas tanks, saw blades, tea kettles, dish drainers, and bike seats and turns them into unusual "creatures" with unique personalities.
Among his creations are "Ice-Tian," an ice skating martian created from old speakers, muffler hangers, and other parts that resemble an Olympic medalist; "The Blue Elephant," with a motorcycle gas tank body, tea kettle head, and other assorted parts; and "Kirby, the Dude," with its kidney-shaped muffler body and bike seat head with spoon eyes.
The exhibit runs through March 31, 2010 and is free and open to the public. The Campus Center hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00 p.m.
