Press Herald covers COM White Coat Ceremony

The covered the UNE College of Osteopathic Medicine's 14th Annual White Coat Ceremony Oct. 7, 2010 with a short story and two photos. At the ceremony, held at Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, physicians presented white coats - the symbolic mantle of the medical profession - to the college's first-year students.

In one photo, Kenneth Johnson, D.O., associate dean for educational programs and vice dean, helps Sarah Belden of Presque Isle into her white coat. Sarah Smithson brought the coat on stage. In a second photo, Marc Hahn, D.O., dean and senior vice president for health affairs, holds a blue glass lobster he is presenting to Joel Kase, D.O., president of Maine Osteopathic Association, because 鈥渉e is one in two million."
