Amy Deveau attends McGraw-Hill's Organic Chemistry Focus Group

Amy Deveau, Ph.D., associate professor in Chemistry and Physics, was invited to attend McGraw-Hill's Organic Chemistry Focus Group held in Dubuque, Iowa, from April 7-9, 2011.  The meeting included 16 faculty from across the United States and focused on recent pedagogical advances in the field of organic chemistry as well as the generation of new ideas for the development of faculty and student support materials for the course.   Dr. Deveau has been teaching organic chemistry, general chemistry and medicinal chemistry at UNE since 2003.   Having earned a Ph.D. in chemistry and bachelor's degree in chemistry/secondary education prior to joining UNE's faculty, Dr. Deveau researches new methods for teaching organic chemistry lecture and labs as a component to her undergraduate research program.
