Andrew Golub, Bethany Kenyon, Laurie Mathes, and Amanda Leen give presentation on 24/5 Project at Maine Academic Libraries Conference

Andrew Golub, Dean of Library Services, Bethany Kenyon, Access Services Assistant, Laurie Mathes, Circulation Coordinator, Portland Campus, and Amanda Leen, Circulation Coordinator, Biddeford Campus, gave a presentation at the Maine Academic Libraries meeting held at Colby College on April 15th.  Their presentation was entitled, 鈥淭he Best Thing a Library Can Be Is Open鈥 and dealt with UNE鈥檚 efforts to offer 24 hour per day library services on both of its campuses.  Their talk dealt with the political, academic, security, personnel, facilities, and other issues that UNE resolved as the department began in the fall of 2010 to offer 24 hour per day library services, 5 days per week during academic semesters with only student staffing.  UNE is the only library in Maine to do so.
