Jeff Nevers presents at Maine State Government Human Resources Briefing

Jeff Nevers, coordinator of career services, was invited to present at the Maine State Government Human Resources Briefing, a professional development workshop comprised of over fifty human resources professionals representing all Maine state agencies.

The focus of his presentation was to provide an overview of Maine鈥檚 demographic challenge in retaining and recruiting new college graduates, offer ideas on best practices for Maine state agencies to entice recent graduates to consider state government careers, and suggest how agencies can develop relationships with higher educational institutions.

According to a recent National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) survey, only 6% of graduates from the class of 2011 were considering careers in government at any level.
