Cherie Burke joins UNE as director in simulation and clinical education

Cherie Burke, CRNA, DNP, has joined UNE as assistant director in simulation and clinical education in the Westbrook College of Health Professions.

Burke has spent nearly 27 years working as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She has engaged in clinical faculty practice in a wide variety of practice settings including large level-one teaching centers, rural hospitals, community hospitals, surgery centers and office-based anesthesia environments. 

Prior to her appointment at UNE, she served as the director of simulation at Rutgers University, and worked as an adjunct faculty member around the Philadelphia area.

Burke鈥檚 doctoral research was in the area of patient safety, which she will incorporate into UNE student simulation experiences, as well as in her clinical education curriculum.
