Cynthia Forrest presents during Tobacco Free College Network webinar

Cynthia Forrest, B.A., M.Ed., M.Ed., Ed.D., vice president for Student Affairs, will be speaking as part of the Maine Tobacco Free College Network’s free webinar, titled “ This webinar is free and will take place on June 10, 2015 at 12 p.m.

During this webinar, Forrest will discuss the strategies three student governments and three generations of student trustees utilized to implement the tobacco-free campus initiative at UNE.

UNE President Danielle Ripich, Ph.D., will also be highlighted by Forrest for her decision to allow this initiative to be driven by students. According to Forrest, Ripich met with each student government, listened to their concerns and determined that students needed to be the constituency that garnered public support.

Forrest will also discuss the implementation strategy that included the year-long work of the UNE Tobacco-free Campus Implementation Committee consisting of students, faculty and staff from both campuses.
