Jane Carreiro receives A.T. Still Medallion of Honor

Jane Carreiro, D.O., professor and chair of the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at UNE was awarded the A.T. Still Medallion of Honor, the highest award granted by the American Academy of Osteopathy. This award recognizes academic, scholarly and professional lifetime achievements.

Carreiro was hailed as an expert in traditional and complimentary medicines by the World Health Organization, she chairs the Osteopathic International Alliance and serves on both the Osteopathic Principles Committee and the Osteopathic Benchmarks Committee of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education. 

In 2013, Carreiro was recognized nationally for her teaching and contributions to osteopathic medical education.
