Kelsey Earley crowned Miss Maine America 2015

Kelsey Earley, a junior studying Dental Hygiene in UNE鈥檚 Westbrook College of Health Professions was recently welcomed by to Washington, D.C. after being crowned Miss Maine America 2015. News of her achievement was covered on and .

In her new role, Earley will represent the state of Maine throughout the year, and will use this opportunity to expand her 鈥淏e a Superhero鈥 project.  

Through the 鈥淏e a Superhero鈥 project, Earley sews superhero capes for children with disabilities or illness, and donates them to The Barbara Bush Children鈥檚 Hospital in Portland, Maine. So far, she has crafted more than 100 capes.

According to the politicalnews.me article, Senator Collins praised Earley鈥檚 dedication to higher education and applauded her efforts to help local children.
