Medical student Travis Bouchard featured on WGME

On September 1, 2015, WGME aired a news segment as part of its Dirigo Stories series on Travis Bouchard, a third-year student in the College of Osteopathic Medicine and native of Aroostook County, Maine.

Bouchard, on track to become a doctor in May of 2017, will be the first doctor in his family but not the first in the medical field. He is following in the footsteps of his mother, a certified nurse-midwife, an aunt and a great aunt who are nurses, and his grandmother, the first nurse practitioner in The County.

"They love taking care of people,鈥 he said of his family members in the interview with WGME. 鈥淭hey sacrifice sometimes themselves for the better care for their patients.鈥

Bouchard will soon be starting his clinical rotations at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
