SNAP-Ed and Wholesome Wave partner to promote nutrition through locally-grown food

The 糖心传媒 and Wholesome Wave partnered to develop a toolkit intended to provide inspiration and guidance for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Eduation () nutrition educators interested in integrating a focus on locally-grown food and farmers' markets.

Within the toolkit are tips to facilitate and strengthen relationships between local health organizations and farmers' markets. It includes three different models for implementing nutrition education programming, with each model introducing participants to the idea of shopping for foods that are grown or produced locally in the farmers' market setting.

While the toolkit is designed for Maine SNAP-Ed nutrition educators, the content and lessons can be widely integrated into SNAP-Ed curricula throughout the country. A complete copy of the toolkit can be found on the .

Since its inception in 2007, Wholesome Wave has launched numerous initiatives and is recognized as a compelling model for expanding regional food access. The mission of Wholesome Wave is inspiring underserved consumers to make healthier food choices by increasing affordable access to fresh, local, and regional food.
