SNAP-Ed Recipe Challenge winner featured in local media

The Maine Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) was recently featured on WCSH 6 and WGME 13 segments for its Maine SNAP-Ed Recipe Challenge. Each segment highlighted Molly Glueck, winner of the Recipe Challenge, and Leslie Ouellette, M.S., R.D., L.D., SNAP-Ed obesity prevention coordinator at UNE.

Glueck, a seventh-grade student at Messalonskee Middle School in Oakland, Maine won the challenge with her pasta primavera recipe. In each video, she provided a cooking demonstration, while Ouellette provided more information about SNAP-Ed and explained why Glueck鈥檚 submission was selected.

The Recipe Challenge, conducted in March, asked local chefs to create a nutritious dish that could feed a family of four for less than $10.  This effort was part of Maine SNAP-Ed鈥檚 mission to teach families how to shop, cook and eat on a limited budget.
