Department of Occupational Therapy holds celebration for new national honor society members

New members of Pi Theta Epsilon

On February 23, 2016 fifteen occupational therapy students were initiated into national occupational therapy honor society Pi Theta Epsilon. According to the American Occupational Therapy Foundation, the society recognizes and encourages superior scholarship among students enrolled in professional, entry-level programs at accredited educational programs across the United States.

Elizabeth Francis-Connolly, Ph.D., OTR, FAOTA, dean of the Westbrook College of Health Professions provided inspirational words through her keynote address, 鈥淓veryday Leadership.鈥

The celebration was coordinated by Pi Theta officers as well as Kate Loukas, OTD, M.S., OTR/L, FAOTA, interim program director and clinical professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and Nancy MacRae, M.S., OTR/L, FAOTA, associate professor, founding advisor and advisor emeritus.

Newly elected officers from the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy 

Class of 2017 include President Kelcey Briggs, Vice President Rachel Schwaner, Secretary Hannah Winebaum and Treasurer Lindsey Garehan.
