Rebecca J. Boulos, M.P.H., Ph.D., assistant clinical professor in the , and Anne-Marie Davee, M.S., R.D., L.D., SNAP-Ed senior nutrition program coordinator, authored a chapter in Lifestyle Medicine (3rd edition) titled, “Nutritional Considerations for Young Athletes.â€

The chapter provides the latest research related to active adolescents’ dietary needs, beverage consumption patterns, use of supplements and ergogenic aids and behavioral techniques to promote healthful dietary patterns. It also provides practical information for how health practitioners, coaches and parents can support a healthful environment for young athletes.
