On May 22, 2016, the Bangor Daily News published a column by Scott Steinberg, dean of University Admissions, titled “5 tips for planning your college visit.”

In the article, Steinberg gives potential college students and their parents suggestions “that can ultimately make for a smoother, more productive and enjoyable trip” when visiting colleges and universities of interest.

He recommends researching visitor offerings at each college and making necessary reservations; conducting no more than two visits per day; connecting with faculty, coaches and activity directors in advance; dividing between parents and students all trip responsibilities, such as making travel arrangements and campus arrangements; and preparing an itinerary for each trip.
