WCSH program “207” features Lara Carlson’s research on stock car racing

Lara Carlson

The news magazine show “207” on WCSH produced a segment about Lara Carlson, DPE., F.A.C.S.M., C.S.C.S., associate professor in the Ĵý Department of Physical Therapy and the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences.

The show tagged along with Carlson as she did field research at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough on the physiological impacts of racing on drivers. The segment described how Carlson’s research proves that drivers are athletes by demonstrating the physicality of the sport. “If they’re more prepared for these stressors, they’re safer because hopefully they will ward off fatigue and make less mistakes,” Carlson said.
